Ok, another losing day. I had a good start in my first session, then a thunderstorm started and the power went out. I had like 3 large stacks. DJ finished them (he's in chicago), but I definitely missed a lot of hands. It seems like he got uncluky on some bubble situations also. I decided that no matter what I'm going to keep on trying my best until I play 1000 of these. Maybe I will come across more great winning streaks. It's depressing to lose. Oh yeah, if you can't tell, I had another losing day.

Still struggling a little

Played about 40 sit and goes yesterday, and another 26 today.
I realize that I do not always play my a-game. I need to make it a goal of simply never timing out. As weird as it seems ,I play a lot better after showering. Maybe I should just take a shower whenever I lose a session.
Yesterday I was playing 6 table max $25 NL, 4 at once. I went up like $110 very fast. The players were terrible. Then I went on to have AA, KK, KK, AA by AK, and JJ cracked back to back to put me back to even. Funny luck I guess.

Today I played in 15+1 stars sit and go because a friend talked me into it and I won it pretty easily, getting like $7000 in chips early. A huge heater. It seems like Pokerstars never has suckouts the way it does on Party. I swear there is a chance that PartyPoker uses some kind of high-variance algorithm (just kidding, but not really).

Ok just had about a -$230 session after playing 21 sit and goes.. mainly $20s and a few $10s. Lets see, a few things I noticed:

  • Saturday afternoons they are much worse than they are on normal weeknights. The tables emptied out faster.
  • Got sucked out on a lot more than usual, and sucked out on people less.
  • I was not enitrely pleased by my play. I timed out a few times...
  • I was replacing new ones, so I was consistently playing 8 until I played 21.
  • I think it is better for me to just stick with 6-8 at once... and don't replace them.
I will try again later tonight and post my results.

Decisions, not results, Decisions not results!

Ok today I had a losing day. Not to make excuses, but I was tired and making a lot of bad plays. I was not playing my A-Game. I think I should only play poker when I feel really good, like on my workout days. And considering that I work out 5 days a week, that is a lot of days. I made a lot of gambling style plays that I don't usually make. Even if they are +EV, psychologically it is defeating when I lose them... and I start second-guessing myself because I'm tired. But anyway, here are my up to date results, and I will keep on trying.

Another winning day.. on heater I guess

I know the bad run will eventually come soon. Hope it doesn't depress me too much.
Maybe I'll study for the LSAT more during my bad runs.. and then play poker during my good runs :)

Update

Just had a day where I was out teaching chess or driving for about 12 hours today. So I only played one set today. Last night I didn't play any because I had to wake up early today... I'll play a lot more this week.

Poker Update

Ok, I was doing this in LiveJournal, but now I will do it here. So here are my updates... I just graduated to being able to play 3 20+2s according to Greg's system. I am up $605 since starting this experiment.
